When materials are cut and torn, when textures and colors are confronted, when artifacts are assembled together, when ideas collide, there's always something interesting happening. The fusion of disparate and juxtaposed imagery through collage provokes questions, and in turn, we look for meaning. Our unique life experiences that shape us are in play when intellectually and emotionally deciphering art. I think this is especially true when visual imagery has more than one cultural context. I like the idea of letting the viewer create their own narrative as it applies to them and their life when looking at my collages.
